Thrashers Bludvera call it quits

Liverpool Thrash band Bludvera have decided to call it quits.  The band signed to EBM records had been hailed as one of the leading lights of the new British Thrash movement having played a number of festivals in Britain and Europe and supported a number of well known acts and had been booked to play a number of shows throughout 2014.

Well I wanted to leave this for awhile but I guess I’ll have to come forward now. We tried our best to keep things rolling. You can say “don’t give up!” all you want but the truth is the last year has been an absolute nightmare and I’d like to give a real explanation instead of saying something stupid like “creative differences”.

Over the last year and the beginning of this year we’ve been plagued with; loss of members, taking long breaks which has interrupted our routine and loss of determination due to the aforementioned. Few of us tried to keep it going as long as we could but we just lost another member and that pretty much added even more frustration to our form. Also the lack of funds and organisation when it came to putting merchandise together and playing overseas shows.

I’d like to thank every single person who supported us, helped spread the word and had faith in what we were doing from the very beginning. It’s been a great ride, we’ve had some of the greatest memories playing gigs around the country. We’ve met some great people, played with some awesome bands. Played some of the UKs best Metal festivals.

Now this isn’t the be all and end all. Some of us are starting different projects and want to put out some fresh ideas.

And maybe we’ll be back sometime in the future.

6 years, it’s been a blast.

East Anglian Thrash titans Shrapnel have announced that Elimination guitarist Darryl Abbott will be joining them on bass. Shrapnel are currently signed to Candlelight Records and will be supporting American Thrash legends Overkill alongside Xentrix at a number of shows across the U.K. in March and have recently been featured in Terrorizer magazine.

We want to welcome Darryl Abbott to the Shrapnel ranks as our new permanent bass player! Darryl’s been learning the stuff up and will be making his live debut very soon!

“Im really looking forward to getting things rolling in 2014 with shrapnel its been a case of learning all the songs in my bedroom so i am itching to get on that stage and make my presence felt alongside these nutters” – Daz

Chris Dale famous for playing bass in NWOBHM legends Tank and for Iron Maiden front man Bruce Dickinson has joined Monument for their upcoming 2014 shows replacing Matt “Mira” Scott who has left the band. Chris Dales addition to the Monument ranks gives added credibility to the band ahead of the release of their debut album later this year. Dale had previously performed with Monument at an acoustic show in London last year. Monument were also recently nominated for  “Best Festival Act” category in Rock Fusion’s 2014 awards.

Essex based Revivalists Entropy have returned to their three piece format following the departure of their new guitar player Will Cummings.

Unfortunately, Will is no longer with us in Entropy, he is still recording a producing our upcoming EP ‘Seeds of War’ but lately he has felt detached from the role as a performing musician. We wish him the best of luck with his future musical endeavors and we all want you guys to know that there is absolutely no bad blood with Will and us, and he is still going to be working with us on the EP.

The band has three upcoming shows in Colchester on the 20th of February, Harwich on March 15th and Ipswich on April 12th.

British Metal band Absolva appear on the former AC/DC singer Dave Evans E.P. “Nothing to Prove”.  Absolva had previously worked with Dave Evans as his backing band and have recently announced they would be doing the same thing for former Iron Maiden singer Blaze Bayley. The work Absolva are doing presently is giving them increasing credibility in the industry ahead of the release of their second album this year.

TBFM’s Best British Band for 2013 Absolva started the new year by announcing the release of their new single “Never Back Down” and video from their brand new album Anthems to the Dead which will be released on May 5th on Rocksector.
